The CD coverstory
The songs on the CD set out some principles for how to live life as a Christian. You can also find these principles on the CD cover in picture form. The cover consists of three windows which combine to form a triptych, starting with the front.
The Lighthouse
On the front of the CD cover is a lighthouse on a rock. The water of the sea is splashing, smashing and hammering against the rock yet the lighthouse stands solid on the rock. Nothing can bring it down and it stands its ground.
The lighthouse represents the Christian. A Christian can stand the storms of life because he or she puts their faith and trust in Jesus and so Jesus can work in and through the believer. This makes them a light in the darkness.
The lighthouse is shining its light over the sea and reveals a person in the high waves. This is the bridge to the second window.
The Person Drowning
In the waves of the wild sea someone is drowning. The light of the lighthouse is shining on him. He is in the spotlight, so he can be seen although it’s only a hand above the waves. A drowning person has to make a choice. Does he want to be saved and let the rescue boat fish him up or does he not want to be saved and prefer to take care of himself? The consequences are all up to him.
The Prayer Team
The last window shows a cross. Underneath the cross there are four people sitting. Two of them are praying. They pray constantly for those in the boat. The crew in the boat are looking and searching for drowning people who want to be saved but the men in the boat can’t do it by themselves. They only can find the drowning man because the light of the lighthouse is shining on the drowning man and because of the prayers of those praying.
There is also another pair of people underneath the cross. They are washing their clothes in the blood of the Lamb that flows from the cross. They are cleaning themselves every day. They humble themselves so Jesus can make their hearts brand new.
These three groups of people are working together. No one can make it by themselves. They are a fellowship. They are first seeking God’s kingdom. Each in their own way is playing their part in the Father’s plan.
So this story tells you how to be the salt: have pure hearts and be available. Stand on the rock and shine your love to those God sends. Not by your own strength, but by God’s Spirit.
Salt Block and Structure
Inside the cover you see a Salt Block. Salt is not just a tiny little grain, it is a whole Block! And its structure is so beautiful. If you look through a microscope you can see a million beautiful colours.
That is what a Christian is. A salt block of colours that give taste to life!
